A thyristor is short for a silicon-controlled rectifier (also known as a silicon controlled rectifier), a semiconductor device with a four-layer, three‑PN‑junction structure. A bidirectional thyristor is a semiconductor device with an NPNPN five‑layer structure.

A thyristor is a semi-controlled current‑controlled device.

Category Selection: ⑴ First, determine whether the circuit board is suitable for a bidirectional thyristor (triac) or a unidirectional thyristor. ⑵ Based on the installation requirements of the circuit, decide whether to use a through-hole thyristor or a surface-mount thyristor.

Function: Controlled rectification, inversion, frequency conversion, voltage regulation, temperature control, contactless switching, and more.
